This year’s grant cycle is April 1, 2015 – March 31, 2016. We are accepting applications until Thursday, February 19th, 2015 4:00PM. Please click here for the RFA.

Komen New Orleans was able to invest $620,000 last year toward furthering our mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever right here in Greater New Orleans. Susan G. Komen® is the single largest investor in the fight against breast cancer tackling this battle across all fronts: in research, community outreach, education, advocacy and global work. Here in Louisiana, Komen’s promise inspires the organization’s mission on a local level: meeting the breast health needs of the women, men and families in our community- especially those most in need and most at risk. Komen New Orleans funds local breast health and breast cancer programs serving those who may not otherwise have access due to low income, lack of insurance or other barriers.
Through events like the Susan G. Komen New Orleans Race for the Cure®, we have invested more than $4.8 million in local screening and treatment services and breast cancer awareness projects in our 8 parish service area. Up to 75 percent of net proceeds generated by Komen New Orleans stay in the Greater New Orleans area. The remaining income goes to the national Susan G. Komen® Grants Program for energizing science to find the cures. Louisiana ranks third in the nation in breast cancer mortality even though our state has a low incidence rate. Komen New Orleans is dedicated to providing funding to the most impactful programs that will help reduce this mortality rate.
The funds for the 2015/2016 grant cycle are generated through the various events held throughout the year such as the Summer Cure Chefs Wine Dinner, #KICKDAT Kick-off for Komen and the Komen New Orleans Race for the Cure®.
